The Western New York Home School Music Association, as articulated in our mission statement, exists to train home-schooled students in ensemble performance, music history, music theory and music ministry. We offer Choir & Orchestra.  We rehearse on Monday afternoons from early September to late May. The first Wednesday after Labor Day we have our “Parents Meeting” to provide families with pertinent information for the year ahead.   Rehearsals are held in the Buffalo area.Choir This multi-level choir serves to teach younger students the basics of singing in a choir, while giving the advanced student an opportunity to strengthen their current skills.  Students will receive instruction in sight reading, basic music theory, and vocal technique, aiming to glorify God through ensemble and solo singing.   Orchestra This multi-level full orchestra (which currently includes strings, woodwinds, brass & percussion) serves to teach younger students the basics of playing in an orchestra, while giving the advanced student an opportunity to strengthen their current skills and mentor younger players.  Students will receive instruction in sight reading, ear training, basic music theory, and playing posture, aiming to glorify God through ensemble playing.  Our vision for the future includes:Splitting the current full orchestra into separate string orchestra and band programsOffering a beginner group in each program areaWe look forward to seeing our dreams realized in order to serve you better!
